Somalia
Mogadishu, capital of Somalia which is called Horn of Africa.
Somalia used to be a British and Italian protectorate,
was involved in the Cold War, and was intervened by the US-led
Multinational Forces in the 90s. Today, people have been suffering
from the on-going civil war, the situation of anarchy, a flood of guns
and drugs, “an unemployment rate of over 90%”, and “an average
life span of 48 years”. That is why Somalia is called “collapsed state”.
「アフリカの角」と呼ばれる赤道直下の国ソマリアの首都モガディシュ。
イギリスとイタリアに保護領にされた後、米ソ冷戦の波にのまれ、90年代
後半には米軍主体の国連多国籍軍に介入された。内戦は今でも続き、
「失業率90％」、無政府状態、銃と麻薬の氾濫、平均寿命48歳・・・
「崩壊国家」といわれる。

al-Qaeda, and countless militias belonging to such groups.
